Costs Extra! I provide producers with a drama-free casting experience. I pledge to bring your vision to life through organization, open communication, cutting-edge casting technology, and a clear focus on serving the project. We will work together to find the best, most passionately committed actors for your film within clearly-outlined goals, benchmarks, and budget constraints. Whether your casting needs include prereads of hundreds of actors or formal offer letters to name talent, my philosophy remains the same: Casting should be one of the most exciting, stress-free, and rewarding parts of the filmmaking process. I only sign on to cast scripts that I feel passionate about. That way, you can be assured that I will provide you with enthusiastic commitment, as I discuss your project with agents, managers, and actors throughout the casting process. My commitment begins with the first draft of the character breakdown and lasts through finalizing SAG contracts. As a former actor, I am committed to providing the most actor-friendly environment possible within the confines of the auditioning process. Through my books and my weekly column, I strive to demystify the casting process for actors. I hope to provide an environment in which actors can do their best work. I pledge to provide as much information about the project as possible--well in advance--so that actors may prepare as completely as they wish. I schedule sessions of paired reads so that actors are working with others as early as the preread process, to show me their chemistry and flexibility. I pride myself on the fact that the overwhelming majority of my auditions run on schedule. I respect actors' time and prep work. In return I expect an actor to arrive on time, prepared, with a headshot and resumé in hand, ready to do good work. I have little tolerance for no-shows, since I'm well aware of how many other actors compete for each time slot. One of my casting mentors once told me, "We're throwing a little party, here. As an actor, your goal is to get invited back." I'm now known for saying, "Every time you're invited to audition, you are being told, 'I believe you! You are an actor!' And every time you earn a callback, you are being told, 'You are castable!'" After that, it's just a matter of which way we go! For a glimpse into what it's like to hire me to cast your project, watch this. |
